Does it really matter?

Does it really matter where I go to church?

I believe it does. God has a specific place He wants me, and that includes where I go to church.

Should I be speaking to people about the idols they have in their lives?

Yes. God has commanded us only to worship HIM.

Why is this so important? Well, here's what I have been led to this evening;

Deuteronomy 12

English Standard Version (ESV)

Deuteronomy 12

The LORD’s Chosen Place of Worship
 1 "These are the statutes and rules that you shall be careful to do in the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess, all the days that you live on the earth. 2 You shall surely destroy all the places where the nations whom you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3You shall tear down their altars and dash in pieces their pillars and burn their Asherim with fire. You shall chop down the carved images of their gods and destroy their name out of that place. 4 You shall not worship the LORD your God in that way. 5But you shall seek the place that the LORD your God will choose out of all your tribes to put his name and make his habitation there. There you shall go, 6and there you shall bring your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the contribution that you present, your vow offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock. 7And there you shall eat before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your households, in all that you undertake, in which the LORD your God has blessed you.

God actually tells us to "destroy" idols. That's more than just talking about it, isn't it? God doesn't want a, "I'll shove that idol in the closet over there." He wants us to RID OURSELVES OF IT.

Is that hard? Yes. It's painful getting rid of things we've become attached to. But God wants all or nothing. He won't take only part of you. He wants ALL of you!

Secondly, we are to seek the LORD for His direction of where He wants us.
Seeking and dwelling in the Lord is truly amazing!

"...and you shall rejoice, you and your households, in all that you undertake, in which the LORD your God has blessed you."

Dwell in the Lord, seek where HE wants you, do as HE commands, and God will do amazing things.
