Walking toward the only light.

Walking, is something that we all could just aimlessly do. But we don't usually just walk around without a reason or purpose of doing so. What I am saying is; usually when a person is walking, they're trying to get somewhere, to some type of goal, may that goal be very important or just a stroll to go somewhere, there is still a goal in mind.

You can also say that is true with almost everything we do in life, whether that be work, play, sports, etc. We all have some goal of either getting better, making money, having fun and so on.

Here is the big question though; Do you have a goal in mind when it comes to your faith? Now if you do, what type of goal? Is it something along the lines of memorizing more bible verses, doing a devotion each day or praying more?

Well what about walking and talking with The Creator, in a very real and intimate relationship?

That sounds pretty amazing doesn't it? Well let me tell you something, you aren't the only one who wants an intimate relationship --- He wants one with you too! God longs for us to seek Him, to talk to Him, to truly love Him!

Joshua 24:14-23

New International Version (NIV)
14 “Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
16 Then the people answered, “Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods! 17 It was the LORD our God himself who brought us and our parents up out of Egypt, from that land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled. 18 And the LORD drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites, who lived in the land. We too will serve the LORD, because he is our God.”
19 Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins. 20 If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you.”
21 But the people said to Joshua, “No! We will serve the LORD.”
22 Then Joshua said, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD.”
“Yes, we are witnesses,” they replied.
23 “Now then,” said Joshua, “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.”

When you say that you will serve the Lord, it isn't just a light commitment, it is a very serious commitment. When you say it, MEAN it, then LIVE it!

Psalm 40:10

New International Version (NIV)

10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help.
I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness
from the great assembly.

Speak of His faithfulness and saving grace everywhere you go, don't just hide it in your heart, share it!

When you walk and talk with the Lord I can promise you, it is truly amazing.

God Bless!
